In today’s video, I want to talk to you about the mindset that’s holding entrepreneurs back from really scaling up their lead generation and growing their businesses.
So, there’s two types of entrepreneurs from the mindset perspective.
There’s those that have a bias for action and those that have a bias for thought, and it’s the bias for thought that really holds entrepreneurs back.
They want to get things perfect before they go to the execution phase.
They debate the tactics.
Should they use SEO or PPC?
Should they go to the Chamber of Commerce or BNI?
Should they invest in a new website or buy this software before they go to market?
And they just keep putting roadblocks in front of taking action, and that slows down their business and their lead generation.
On the opposite side are those entrepreneurs that have a bias for action, and very often what you’ll find is, on paper they’re less qualified.
Their products are inferior, they know less about the market, but yet they end up winning in the market.
Why is that?
This is a question that you likely ask yourself, “How come this person is doing better than me in the market?”
“My product’s better, or I know more about the market,” but the reality is they’re taking advantage of what’s called the feedback loop.
They go to the market with their inferior plan, and it doesn’t matter because they put it in front of those qualified prospects, or ideal buyers, they see what works, and then they tweak or change anything that’s not working
And then they go back and they do it again, and that feedback loop is really, really quick when you’re talking about entrepreneurs that have a bias for action.
So, if I was going to break this down, I would say you want to spend somewhere between 10% and 15% of your time on formulating your plan.
I’m going to give you a framework at the end of this video, that you can download, that’s going to have the three important steps in terms of building out your lead generation strategy.
I would encourage you to take that, invest 10% or 15% of your time in building that out, and then ultimately spend the rest of your time executing.
Then notice what’s working, change what’s not.
Take that feedback, go back to your market, and what you’ll see, is you’ll very quickly find your perfect or ideal strategy to bring in leads.
There’s no substitute for this. This is how you’re going to get better at anything.
Nobody sits down with a piece of paper and thinks about their lead generation strategy, comes up with a perfect strategy on the first time.
It’s really all about taking that action, going in front of your market, seeing what works, tweaking it, getting that feedback.
Ultimately that’s how you come up with that perfect lead generation strategy for your market.
